Hi, firstly is this the correct place for braking needs? i think one of my hoses that joins the resevoir to the master cylinder is leaking as if i
touch the hose it leaves my hand slightly greasy like brake fluid although nothing drips. The hose has a proper clip on it to seal aroung the
reseviour barb outlet and the same on the end that joins the flared copper pipe that meets the cylinder. I am sure the hose im using is the correct
stuff (rubber hose with fabric braiding) from merlin motorsport but i would have expected it to last longer than 8months. What is permanent solution
for this if i need to replace it after some more checks?
Thanks
Adam

there was a thread about this recently. Are you using fully synthetic brake fluid (DOT 4)? As this is what the fabric covered hose is designed for.
I just bought some of THIS from CBS, comes with an IVA cert stating it is for brake fluid...
again, only for fully synthetic brake fluids
Currently using some cheapo dot4 and thinking about going for some fresh super dot4/5.1
Shouldn't be anything wrong when basic DoT4 unless you are generating hooge amounts of heat and then you'll need something like AP600 (DoT
5.1). I would be very impressed if you can generate these sorts of temps in a lightweight car.

il check it over this weekend as maybe its just from the initial bleed when it all got a bit messy or something worse like a sharp edge on one of the
flared pipes from the cylinder. The brakes have had an easy life so far and even when it does get on the track i doubt we would be able to get it hot
as we'd be too scared of pranging it
