ok need more how much would 14" rims over 13" rims give me with same profile tyres

Paul TigerB6 - 20/4/10 at 11:12 PM

What are they currently?? Depends on the width as the profile is a percentage of width. I assume you have an english axle?

205/60/13's would give you a little over 185/60/13's but i really wouldnt bother with 14's to be honest - not the greatest selection of tyres available

Andrew, I take it this is for your diesel locost project, in which case I'd go for a much lower ratio - I've got a diff from a BMW 330d which is (iirc) 2.88:1 (assuming of course that you are using a half decent diesel)

I have a 3.1 diff from 2.8 Capri atlas axle if interested.

Sorry to jump in, does anyone know if there is an easy way to tell what diff you have fitted? I have a mk2 escort live rear axle and other than rolling the chassis and counting how many prop rotations there are to one rear wheel rotation is there a simple tell? Cheers
