is it possible to use front uprights and a rear axle from a car other than a ford without making many adjustments?
If so which would be a similar size to the fords?
Some guys in estonia use lada running gear, depends on where you are in the world as ladas are a bit thin on the ground here uk
i was thinkin of usin honda/rover fwd ones very few cortinas over here and just think the sierra hubs with the mushroom look very big and bulky
just need to work out how to lock the cv joint so that the hub nut can be tigtened/loosned
Somewhere I've read that early Tigers used golf I front uprights. Don't know what they did with the driveshaft bits though, but the McP ubolts from the upright ( also seen with peugeot and renault acars) and some adaptor was bolt on to that, simular to what some OZ builders have done to nissan parts.
if u look theres quite a lot of double wishbone fwd cars now . audis are 1 was workin on 1 the other night
BUT!!!! they have a weird set up almost like 2 tca's top and bottom so 2 bj's at the top alone and the links are 35+vat at motor factor cost price
from qh so definatly not locost but are alloy and very light
but the trak rod ends have a bush between the threaded part and and the actual rod end
does anybody know about the sizes of rear axles from toyotas, mazdas, rover, etc.
I'm looking for a rear axle from a cortina or one of similar size.
