Can anyone put the link up to previous threads for the bearing mod that replaces the plastic bearing on the steering column?,
I cant remember the bearing supplier or part number , think it cost about a tenner?, am sure someone posted a "how to"
on here, cheers
You retain the plastic inner bearing, the one with the triangular hole for the column, it's a fraction to big, so fit it in a drill, clamp drill in a vice, wrap emery clth round plastic and turn on drill, keep checking until it fits in the bearing, the bearing has a grub screw to fix the plastic insert.
Carried out this mod on my Cobra build.
Google Wiki 'how to build a Sumo'
And look under 'steering'
shows how to do the bearing mod (I know its on a Cobra but the principle's the same.)
