Sierra Master Cylinder
davidimurray - 9/6/11 at 08:36 PM

Been playing with my brakes today and not sure if my master cylinder is working correctly, When I pump the cylinder and put my fingers over the front two outlet and pump the cylinder I can feel the pressure building up.However when i do this for the rear outlet I can barely feel anything.

Also If I fill the reservoir with fluid, the rear outlet start to drip fluid without depressing the piston. Is this normal ?

Cheers

sounds like the plunger may be set up incorrectly there should be a little free play between the plunger / rod and the piston, have you checked this?

Hi austin

Yes there is free play between the push rod and plunger (with the stop fully wound in I have about 10mm free. You can also see that the washer on the plunger is fully back against the circlip.
