Locost gsxr 1100 help on diff ratio ??

Hi guys new here didnt know you existed !
I'm building gsxr 1100 (99" engine) and wondered if anyone new the correct diff ratio of the escort mk 2 differential ??

Not sure on the Gixxer gear ratios but you'll need a 3.54 ratio with virtually any BEC for sure. Expect to pay £120 upwards, if you can find one!

If you want an escort diff at 3.54 you are looking for one from an RS200 if my memory serves me correctly.

Small world, I've got a similarly engined car.

In my case I have a diff ratio of 3.14 13inch 185/60 tyres and a rev limit of 11000rpm gives a (theoretical) top speed of 140mph, and 100mph in 3rd. Probably geared a bit high really but if you are going to travel on a motorway 75mph is around 6500rpm in top, which is fairly relaxed.

Other thoughts. You can use a gsf breather cover to bring the height down by 15mm or so.

Ok guys thanks so far really helping (bec??) sorry just need elaborating I have a axle with diff already in just need to find out the diff inside (ratio)

I'd turn the prop and count how many times you need to rotate for a wheel to turn.
Its really easy but you need to ensure that either both wheels rotate the same, or one is stationary (in which case you need to divide by two). I guess you knew all this (a bit like my previous posting).

The only thing I'm not good with is diggs and ratios and how it works so I'm learning it for once !! Would appreciate a guide to it !!first BEC never done one myself always stuck with car engine :-s
