Im planning on changing the brake fluid this week, on my locost
its just a two line front, and a single line to the back, and bleed one side only
would one liter be enough, or should i get some more?
steve
litre should be plenty. Maybe half would do it, depending on master cylinder reservoir
depends 500 ml should be enough but....
Suck fluid out the reservoir before you start then push the calliper pistons back, and empty the reservoir..
For emptying the fluid if you don't have a vacuum fluid extractor or large syringe buy a Turkey Baster from Sainsburys.
Refill the resevoir and slowly pump the pedal (particularly on the pedal return stroke) to get the fluid through and the pistons back out,
keeping a close eye on the fluid level.
If you want you can bleed fresh fluid through to the nipples but you will have changed more than 95% of the fluid so it isn't really
required.
Euro car parts sell the racing fluid, think it might be in a 1.5ltr tin(?), but the fluid is Blue - so you know when its the new fluid coming through.
