HELP !

I have 2 sets of Ford 'English' half shafts in the garage one set from a 8" drum axle the other from a 9" drum axle. On one set the centre hub is flush with the drum when installed Like the one in the escort haynes manual, the other set sticks through about 15mm.

I'm guessing the flush ones are the 8"drum shafts am I correct ?

also annoyingly each set has one suspect bearing, anybody tell me how much hassle to change them
