I need an IVA friendly steering wheel. Question is, will an escort steering wheel fit a sierra column??? If I was to hazard a guess I would say yes.
Just wanted to know if I had more options than a sierra wheel.
Thanks for any help.
I thought you could use any wheel now as long as it doesn't have holes/slots in the spokes. The reason for using a donor wheel is the larger diameter to hide stuff behind?
The main reason for using a standard production car steering wheel is compliance with all the regulations , padding etc. A larger wheel is a bonus as far as hiding stuff behind. Can't help as to will it fit or not but another consideration that may apply is will the steering lock work which may be required for IVA and will the indicators self cancel which I'm not sure is a requirement
Mk1 mk2 escorts have a splined shaft, mk3 onwards have hex which is the same as the sierra.
steering lock will need to work, not sure about self cancelling indicators, will have to double check the manual but i don't think its a requirement??
