Sierra/Fiesta Master Cylinders

My Sierra Master cylinder was the only part of the braking system I didn't replace. It's of course now leaking.

If I'm changing it I'm thinking I might as well go for the smaller bore Fiesta Mk1. Does anyone know if the Sierra reservoir is a straight fit onto the Fiesta one?

It certainly not far off at all. You may have to space it a little with washers to get the distance right and the pipes are in virtually the same place too.

Its not like for like but not a difficult job, however i did pay Mac1 to fit it for me as i dont have time unfortunatly in the week.

I don't know that.

I do know the Nissan Stanza at 13/16" works well and comes with a reservoir.

Cheers lads. What I meant though was will the Sierra reservoir fit into the holes on the Fiesta master cylinder. Or do I need to buy a Fiesta reservoir as well as cylinder

Mine came with a new reservoir, but I put the Sierra one on it to keep the level switch.
It fitted into the holes exactly.

Bought a Fiesta Mk1 19mm cylinder. Can anyone confirm for me that the front brakes come off the holes nearest the pedal box ie the rear holes.

Yes."P" primary to the front, "S" Secondary to the rear

And another question. Anyone know the thread pitch of the 12mm outlet? Seems even smaller pitch than metric fine.

Don't know for sure, but I just got a M12 sleeve nut and sealed the port off with a short length of swagged blocked off brake pipe.

While people are on the subject (sorry if I am hijacking) - can someone explain why there are so many inlets and outlets on car m/c's?

Used to bikes, where it's one of each - and yet to get one for the MK, so happy to take advice on what to get - I'll probably be using Wilwood powerlites up front and std drums on the back (at first anyway).

I butchered the Sierra reservoir.
Drilled and tapped the outlets 7/16 unf, to match the ally connectors available from CBS etc;
Cut them out of the reservoir and screwed the ally connectors in, using the rubber sealing washers supplied.(Dowty Seals)
Been fine for 1800miles, and no leaks over the winter lay up. Although I keep toying with the idea of making a clip to hold the tubing down.
