I have a Ford Anglia 105e which has (I think) Escort mk2 front end parts - uprights, quick rack, arb, world cup cross member.
When I bought the car the track rod ends did not fit the steering arm tapered hole. Measurements are -
Steering rack ends - m14x2
Steering arm taper - bottom 12.25mm, top 10.8mm approx.
Current track rod end taper - incorrect - top 12.8, bottom 14.2 approx.
So, can anyone let me know what track rod end I have and what do I need (RS2000?).
Thanks for your help in advance.
Early Escort had imperial track rods and steering arms. Yours might be Mk1 Escort
Not Escort MK1 they were UNF.
Istr the MK2 Escort RS2000 track rod end used metric threads on the rack thread and imperial sizes on the strut taper.
All the Mk2 RS Escorts continued to use strut parts that were based on parts from 1960s era Fords ie MK Cortina 1600e/Lotus Mk1 Capri, Escort
Twincam

Many thanks, that seems to be the general consensus - RS2000 (green) TRE's. Will try and find some this week.
