was offered a ford mexico rack but with the frame made up AND with the rack ends on it still falls short of the actual length it was 1153mm but i need 1200mm is there something wrong with the frame or should i be looking for ie a cortina rack instead

Most of the wider track 7esq cars need track rod extensions. From memory even the book wishbones are marginal on thread engagement.

You must have something wrong
I used a std escord rack and it fits fine.
recheck you measurements on the top and bottom wishbones also the diamentions of the anchor points
