Leda, having a laugh??

I've just bought a pair of Leda coilovers off here. They seem in good order but one's missing a bush so thought I'd enquire direct to Leda and get the proper things. Metalastik bushes are £4.50, which seems fair. But I also enquired about how much they'd be to service with fresh oil etc as I'd previously had a full set of 4 done by AVO for £120. They want £100 per damper + carriage & VAT!! I also asked how much they'd want for another pair to make up a matching set, that'll be £325 each inclusive of spring seats, bump stops, mounting bushes, etc, however cost is dependent upon specification and finish!!

These are just steel bodied single adjustment shocks, nowt fancy. No wonder they've gone under previously

Might be worth asking Procomp about servicing them - they seem recommended by others on here.

TBH I'm just going to put them on as is for now. They're not leaking, damping seems smooth and adjusters click nicely Should get the car through the IVA fine once I sort the missing bush sorted.

Shocktec completely rebuilt one of my double adjustables including a new aluminium body (after I damaged it) for only £60.

according to my knowledge Leda has stopped trading some years ago.(around 2011 / 12?) , than under new ownership tried again, than changed hand again , now under ownership of Harvey Bailey Engineering Ltd:

not very common choice, most people buying shocks of a higher quality choose Öhlins or Nitron...and i guess those have similar service & parts prices.
