I've enquired with Magnum Engineering about their RV8 to Type 9 Adaptors.

They say I need a Type 9 from an XR4i. What's the difference between that, and the 1800 CVH Type 9 I have already have?

Hi Simon. I might be talking out of my butt, but I think the reason is the following.......
The V6 type 9 gearboxes have (I think) a longer input shaft which is probably necessary when coupling to a V8 (guessing?) to reach the spigot bearing in the crank.
