As the subject, can you convert a 7 inch sierra bolt in diff to a push in?
Ive read it's as simple as removing a circlip. Is this true, has anyone done it?
I'm asking as I've found I've got a 6 1/2 push in diff with 7 inch push in parts so need a new diff. Want to know what i can buy before
I make another mistake.
Cheers Mike
I believe it's that simple, as long as your push-in driveshaft's have the right splines on them (their are a couple of different sizes) and
its not an LSD.
I've got a spare 7" that the bolt on flanges have been robbed off already if you want to check sizes first.
Also don't throw the bolt-on flanges away, there are always people looking for them too (they can be modified to take snap rings and used in
aftermarket LSD's)

This has been done by friends who race Superstox oval racers but the first attempt locked the planet gears, the spline shafts were to long and needed
cutting back.
The other option is to build a hybrid shaft with Bolt on lobro 1 end and push fit on the other.
Thanks - just what I wanted to hear. Now I just a new diff to replace the 6 1/2 diff I've got
I have a couple that might be for sale
if you want to be sure the driveshafts you've got will fit you need to measure the diameter and count the number of splines
Interesting to know this
a mate of mine had some bolt on diff flanges off me cos he wanted to convert his driveshafts to hybrid cos he has a lsd but dont want the hassle of converting to discs
