Shock bushes

I had an MOT advisory so I pulled one of my front shocks off the car. Bog standard Spax supplied by Fisher to the original owner circa 25 years old. Should the central tube be wider than the rubber. How knackered are these?

They're in far better condition than what I just took off. From the photos, red looks fine and yellow a little tired. Mine were melted and noticeably off centre.

I hope everyone considers those to be ok as they look very similar to my second hand ones that I'm using for my car!

My understanding is the central tube is the crush tube so it needs to be wider than the rubber.

Looking at the 'bonded cottonreel' dimensions drawings at Polybush https://www.polybush.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Bonded-Cotton-Reel-Bushes-Website-March-23.pdf there doesn't appear to be any extension of the central metal tube.

But the non-bonded ones do...
