Hi, I recently lost a wheel nut and bought what i thought would be a suitable replacement, however now it's arrived I'm not so sure.
It's an MK with Sierra running gear, and aftermarket alloy wheels.
The nuts I currently have are on the left, with the new on the right. Correct thread, taper angle etc, but much smaller taper surface area.
Am I correct in thinking that I've c0cked up, these replacements are only for steel as I need to spread the load more for alloys, and I should
seek others?

Nuts
The one on the left looks to me to be a standard sierra wheel nut with the captive taper cone.

I saw a video recently showing the importance of using the correct nuts.
Suffice to say it's very important - too late to have taken a chance when they loosen/fall off!
I'd be inclined to ask a local wheel shop for advice.
