Brake support location
Tigers - 27/3/05 at 08:50 PM

Hi!

On my donor car (BMW) rear brake supports are located on the back side of wheel. I have problem placing them there as there is no space for that. So I have to put those on front side.
Is this really bad? I think I have seen some cars with disk brakes and supports un front side. Does it realy matter on wich side supports are located?
Cheers,
J.

Only concern I would have is the location of the bleed screws. Don't want them on the bottom!
Do we?

Our bleeding nuts are located on the bottom... (oooeeer missus! ) though they are located on the rear side of the disc. Easy enough to bleed tho. Take the caliper off, turn it upside down - wedge a 9mm wide plate into the pads and bleed as normal. Afterall, once it's done how many times are you gonna do it again?

Bleeding thingies ain't a problem - I switch brake supports left side to right and everything's cool again
But I was worried if there could be some jacking forces when braking... But may be it's just my imagination
...should read more books... more books... aarghh.....
