ford tranny types...

ok I was looking around and came across some info that used some names I haven't seen before...

ford "rocket", is this a 4spd version of a T9?

does it have a iron case with AL tailsection and is single internal rail shifted? bolts from inside the bell?

came across some quaife tranny stuff and it is looking kinda interesting.....they can do a sequential shift tranny kinda cheap.
they talk of a 4/5/6 speed tranny. so I take it there is no 6 speed factory ford tranny but only a converion to a T9?

well that seemed to help this yank. looks lke I have three options here

a type E 4 spd
a type 9 five speed (very hard to find)
and a T5 (way common)

Well, over here the T5 is reckoned to be the box to have. Not so common here, unfortunately, found in Sierra Cosworths, TVRs in other words, cars that are not often seen in breakers yards.
