hector - 30/6/05 at 01:25 PM

Does anyone have a Viento that can recommend what make of coil overs and what free length should they be??
Spoke to Luego but the chap didnt seem to know what free length was, and wouldnt measure them....

The build manual gives no ideas of lengths/rates.

cheers

This chap's shocks always interest me. Nothing to do with me, and I have never bought from him.

While the start bid is £100, I think he is looking for around £150 which seems reasonable. As per this link;

Springs seem to be around £20 inc vat each.

He is always selling something, the same old ads come around time after time.

I have bought from him twice.. Good service, and helpful chap.
Good new kit. no problems either.

HOWEVER,.... He has 2-1/4" shocks (springs) which do make the positioning a little more difficult, ie you have to space the shocks right, as they get very close to the top suspension arms on the front. You would be better off with the 1.9" ones, as it makes life easier.

Also... the eye holes were 1/2", and the holes in the chassis are 12mm.

I got 2x14" + 2x13" + 4 springs for £220 delivered. Good Price for Gaz.

I would Email him first and make sure you can get 12mm holes in the shock mounts. I have drilled my mounts out and fitted 1/2" bolts. You CANT drill the top front mount with the body ON. Be warned.
Also Imperial bolts are more expensive that metric (from my local supplier).

I must admit, no one could match his price for GAZ shocks AND springs. (he doesnt advertise the springs!! but can get them.)
My Spgs were £15 each, delivered..
Just be aware of the above and contact him first. well packed and quick delivery..

Thats interesting, i take it you have the 14" ones on the front??
Like you say his prices are very good, what spring rates have you gone for Geoff?
thanks fro the reply

I have 2-1/4" all round.

14" fronts (need to be 14" not 13"
13" rears. (Dont go 14" rears - too long)

I used 2 x 13" Shocks, 2 x 225Lb springs 8" (for the 13" Shocks), and 2 x 9" 350lbs for the 14" shocks.
All shocks / springs are 2-1/4" dia.

Try to stick to 2" if you can it gives just a little more clearance, which helps. Its not critical, but it does help.
