rod ends...
suparuss - 10/10/05 at 10:23 AM

what are you supposed to use on 1/2" rod ends at the bearing end? ive tried some m12 threaded bar in em an it seems a bit slack. can i use it and tighting the bracket against it? seems a bit bodged to me. or can you get 1/2" bolts to suit em?

cheers,

russ.

Rod ends are specced by the size of the holes in them and their threads.

1/2" x 1/2" will have 1/2" unf thread and 1/2" hole, so you need 1/2" bolt, or if you want to be pedantic and save a bit of weight on the assembly then use M10 bolts and spacers and sleeve to fit the rod end.

1/2" diameter is 12.7mm so thats where the slack is coming from

cool, figured that'd be the answer. b&q dint have anythin 1/2" or RS etc so thought id best ask before i go down the trade counter asking for things that dont exist!

ps- it doesnt really matter which bushes (mnr or book) i get to be honest, as long as the brackets and wishbone tube all matches em as its a car of my own design. i dont mind paying a bit more if i can get hold of em quicker.

marc n - 10/10/05 at 05:37 PM

did you send to mnrsportscars@btinternet.com, what name would the email have come through as ??

suparuss - 10/10/05 at 05:43 PM

nope, sent it to info@mnr etc as on your webby. guess thats the wrong one?? lol

marc n - 10/10/05 at 05:47 PM

send it to the mnrsportscars address this seems to be more reliable

best regards

marc
