Cortina uprights replacement

Hi. Any ideas on an easy replacement for cortina uprights with a shorter steering arm? We have a fixed quickrack which is too slow for the racecar and are not sure how to fix.

Just modify the Cortina ones!!! Much easier!

I had EXACTLY the same problem with ym autograss car so I did this:

grassersteer2

apologies for the dirty and scruffy state of the car!

I marked up the arms accurately, then drilled through them with a 12mm drill. I made an M12 threaded boss, and a "top hat" type adaptor to suit a 1/2" rod end, then bolted the whole lot through the 12mm hole (threaded boss underneath, top hat on top) and welded the boss and top hat to the steering arm on the upright. This reinforces the area around the drilled hole, and locates the rod end used for the track arm at the correct angle.

It has the added benefit of raising the outer steering pivot point, which makes rack location a bit easier in my case!
