I have a 3.62 viscous diff on my bec and although it has always been a little noisy it seems to be getting louder, especially at about 7000 revs in
top gear (constant speed). My concern is that it may seize throwing me off the road
Is this a possibility? Has anyone else experienced this
problem? Can anyone suggest anywhere that could recondition it and what money are we talking? Any help appreciated.

Never say Never!
But....
I spoke to my bro (who is a mechanic and works on most older vehicles not posh new ones) about this as my diff has a little play in one of the output
shafts and he reckons they are as tough as old boots and even when the shafts are flopping around and the oil has all fell out, they'll still go
on just getting noisier and horribler, but never seen one seize up.
One for the to do list rather than the urgent list, but don't hold me to it!

have you checked the oil level?!
Well thats good to know that it shouldn't seize!! Regards oil level, no I haven't checked it, but will! In fact it does get louder once
the car has covered a few miles/ warmed up, so maybe it is the oil
