With the appropiate longer wheel studs what thickness of spacer would be considered safe

For example would something between 6~a max of 10mm I haven't measured it properly yet be absolutely safe, the pcd is 108mm and studs are 12mm

there is a ratio involving the diameter of the studs and the amount of thread that is suppoed to be wound into the nut.

You need about 6-8 full turns of the nut to be safe. Also, beware of wobbles with spacers - make sure you get the hub centric variety and you should be ok up to about 10-12mm.

Rallye Design do longer studs if required.

i used 6mm spacers on the front of my kitten before making new wishbones and with longer studs had no problem.
