Rear disc brakes

I’m looking at fitting disc brakes to a escort rear axel and have a new set of golf rear callipers left from a previous project , has anybody ever fitted golf callipers before?

Id have thought the principle is exactly the same as fitting any other set of calipers/discs.
Years ago we used to fit Chrysler 180 discs and calipers to Escort and Sunbeam axles. All that was required was fabricating caliper mounting brackets and arc welding them onto the axle.

Give Fostek.co.uk a shout I am sure they will sort you out with the necessary hardware you might require.

If the calipers are the same as the Audi ones (Audi 100 I think), then I've got a set of bolt on brakets for an Escort axle. These fit using a solid Fiesta/FWD Escort disc.

Yep norm is to use Mk3 Escort solid front discs, (also fitted to some 1.3/1.6 Sierras) --- very cheap from most motor factors.
