I just got a sierra rear diff drive shafts and hubs and front hubs but i'm not sure what it came from.

the shafts are thicker than the normal ones, i've taken the rear diff cover off and measured the cwp which is 9 inches.

the rear brakes have vented disks.
any one have any ideas what they came off i have a feeling it might be cossie but the 9" diff doesn't ring any bells.

IIRC the difference between the 7", 7.5" etc is the measurement across the top mounting points on the diff casing.

Some Sierra's/Granada's did have thicker driveshafts, in conjunction with bigger Lobro joints.

Agree with Stu. When talking about diff size for mounting in a locost chassis the 7" or 7.5" refers to the top casing mounting point width.

Larger width means bigger casing, which in turn means more room for bigger internals........

i spoke to quaife at the weekend

the sierra diff i have is indeed a group A motorsport diff and at the same time i thought i would ask about the other 7" & 7.5" diffs

it is measured on the cwp size and is just coincidental that the top mount is the same size.

BTW the top mount for mine is 7.5" so that they could just bolt it in place rather than change all of the underpinnings.

don't particularily care whats in a dif most firms use the 7in across the top mount when they build their chassis so a 7.5 in dif wont fit in a bought chassis
