Which is better, IRS or live axle?
I imagine live axle is easier, but just how hard is IRS to do?
Does the Sierra IRS work, and has anyone compared the handling of IRS and live axle Locosts?
Here in Australia a few people have used MX5s (Miata) for a donor car, and have used the Mazda rear subframe.
I would suggest a search on this topic - there has been LOTS of discussion.
(BTW live axle for me all the way - much simpler - ask James!)
im using IRS off a sierra, but using the oringinal subframe to line up all the original parts. Making it from scratch is a whole new barrel of fish,
one that i personally wouldn't bother with.
On my next car i will either use a simple live axle or buy an IRS chassis, with all the bones and hubs etc.

That would've been beyond me when i started planning, cant really be arsed changing it now that plans are set and mounting points welded. Live axles weigh a lot anyway so i'm not miles behind in weight. This cars just an exercise in building and motivation, next will be perfect!
