Power steering

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was wandering if anyone has used the sierra power steering in their Roadster, my donor is an xr4x4 with the 2.8v6 and although it's a heavy engine it might not be heavy enough to put power steering in....Makes things cheaper though!
Any thought enyone.
Cheers

Do you know how light the steering will be or if you will have any feel for the road or are you just winging it? I don't want to go the bother of doing it just to save a few pounds if it drastically affects the car

Unless you're using both a quick rack and a tiny little steering wheel I'd doubt you'll find the steering excessively heavy even with a heavy engine in the front of the car.... Power steering is just extra weight to lug around....

I haven't seen a 7 with power steering, actually, even considering relatively "robust" car like a Robin Hood 2B. Perhaps a few Cobras with big blocks up front...

What about an electric steering column, currently popular with Escort rally car owners?
