id have a good guess at 6j
5.5j, you can stick 205 wide tyres on them no probs.
Trust me, I owned a capri for years, sold it so I could start building a locost. Oh man! what did I go and do that for????
Yes 5.5"
No they are 6" ET19
come on lets have a fiver on it
RS2000 4 spoke alloys are generally the 6" ones --- easy way to tell is they use different wheel nuts
For for best handling choose tyres at the narrow end of the fittment range for a given rim width, fit tyres at the wide end and the handling gets
wobbly because the tyre rolls about on the rim.
Rs2K wheel are 6J and the capri ones are 5.5J
Wheel nuts are exactly the same.
Trust me I have a set in the garage 10 metres from where I am sat!
Good wheels and are a small fortune for the RS2K ones!!!
Andy
I recently bought a set of 4 spoke alloys and they are definatly 6J I only paid £25, thought they were capri ones, how can I tell if they are the expensive type and how expensive is expensive? - if they are may sell them and get some cheaper capri ones and make a few quid for funding some other bits!
Original ford wheels would have been 5.5J
I made a Dutton Phaeton out of a Capri 3Litre (Mk1 facelift)
That was a long time ago

5.5J - just went out for a look.
I broke up a 2l capri for my locost - gives a slightly wider rear wheel base as I think the capri was wider than an escort.
Wonder what the capri would have been worth if I had kept it?
Gary
6 inch for me.
I have a set of 6" four spoke. The date on the casting is 1986. This would have made them from a Capri Laser as the RS2000 was out of production
by then.
Was it the original RS wheels that took the bolts with a flat seat? I think some of those came even wider.

thank you folks
what ill do when they arrive is take a pic and measure the width
Could it be 5.5 on 1.6 and 6 on the 2.0 Laser?
Then everyone is right.
right i buy and sell these sort of bits all day long so here you go
mk1 escort 4 spokes are 5.5j
mk2 escort are 6j
both have thinner casting around the nut area so are easy to spot
all capri laser 4 spokes are 6j and have thicker casting around the nut area and have tapered nut seats
mk1 fiesta supersport are 5.5j but are a different offset and the "spokes" are almost flush with the rim edge
capri and escort "x-pack" wheels are uber rare and are 7.5j
many people try to pass capri wheels off as rs ones but they are not so be careful
i also belive the jps capri had 5.5j but these again are just mk rs wheels with different center caps

When measuring wheels measure from inside the edges of the rim where the tyre bead seals --- it makes almost exactly 0.5" difference.
Capris used 3 different rear axle widths --- 4" difference between a Mk1 1300 and the last Mk3 2.8

but, of course, not all Capris are Capri Lasers
Mine came odd a 2.0 S Capri (see my avatar) and are clearly embossed with 6J 13
I have a set of Capri Laser wheels as well, definitely 6J.
well i got these
they will do me for trackdays
width
yes there fine i think there capri laser wheels we run them on the rally car for forest events
anyone like to help me with tyre size
14" tyres are easy to fit, but a bit unstable at speed
Seriously, I have 185 60 13 H and am really pleased with them, 70's are also popular
change of plan now as these will not fit over my rear calipers doh
i have some audi 14" rims same pcd slightly difrent ofset if there any use to you there only worth about £40 to me
ive got about 2mm catching so might just get my angry friend out and grind the caliper
or maybe cleaning the rust away might help
