how can i find out the off set of a wheel

cortina alloys like escort mark 2
been told 17 and 18 whats best

If its a standard ford wheel it could well be on it.
ie et19 = 19mm offset.

The ET might be marked on the wheel.

If not then its possible to measure it. The ET is the distance between the centre line of the wheel and the mounting face. Positive offset is towards the outer edge from the centre.

A strieght edge across both sides and measure between them to get the rim width and divide this by 2 to get the centre line measurment. Then measure from the back strieght edge to the mounting face. Subtract the first amount from this and you've got the ET.

I've got Capri Laser alloys and the size is cast into one of the spokes on the front of the wheel and is 6Jx13xCHx19
