Shorter wishbones

Just a quick question, I'm currently altering one of my kits to take a TL1000S motor. I'm scrapping the live rear axle and replacing it with an IRS set up using Sierra diff etc. I want to use the existing chassis to mount the top wishbones to, I've built a cradle to carry the diff and mount the lower wish bones to. My existing chassis is 78mm wider (where the wishbones will mount) than the book chassis, i've now made the cradle to carry the diff and lower wishbones 78mm wider too. I was planning to make the wishbones 78mm narrowor so to keep the sierra track. Any comments please? Will this work? I was planning on softer spring ratings too.

Regards...........Sean.

I believe that wishbone length is pretty crucial to the suspension geometry i.e. if you shorten them the wheel path will change.

You need to do the calculations to better understand how this will affect the handling of the car.
