Today is earmarked for picking up grandson, in the Locost. Decided to take it out for a longer trip, just to check everything OK. Suddenly noticed the
speedo wasn't working any more. Speedo is old-style Smiths 80mm type, driven thru brand-new custom-made cable, and furthermore, speedo was very
recently re-calibrated by Speedy Cables.
Have yet to make more detailed examination, ('cos its been chucking it down!!), but I suspect there may be a prob with the 90deg adaptor,
providing the drive from gearbox.
Anyone else had probs with these adaptors?
Thousands of right angle adapters used on BL cars such as classic range rovers, allegro's etc and all very reliable as far as I know, never had
to replace one anyway.

welcome to the "Im not happy club" as well, Dick, as my speedo is erratic, over reads speed. and after at least 4 times going back to be
checked and recalibrated,
The said company have now refused to look at my speedo again

I drive now using sat nav, or iPhone app

Well, these are 2 very interesting responses to my question. Steve, having noted your comments, am now wondering whether to ditch the Smiths speedo
and replace it with an alternative.
However, there has been a development. After bringing the Locost back home, and parking up on my steeply inclined drive - rear end facing down the
slope - I discovered a large patch of oil underneath the car! Oh, Calamity!! Possibly the angle drive adaptor has come out, so the gearbox may have
leaked.
To be checked over the next few days. (Wish I had a hoist).
