classic seats in book chassis
wheelsinsteadofhooves - 1/3/05 at 10:23 AM

morning all,
does anyone know if the marriage between say mgb seats and a book chassis is a happy one? any other classic semi buckety type seats with seperate headrest that will go, pref available off the heap in true locost style!
cheers

B seats wil be too broad for a standard chassis, but it might be worth measuring Midget/Sprite seats

I have Midget seats that I measured at 18.5". They have recliners and can be used with or without headrests. By the time they have new seat bottoms and covers they won't be especially Locost, but I like them

Just a thought,

If you take nice classic leather seats, say off a Jag. You could carefully remove the leather then cut in the right places and re-stich to make the leather covers narrower. This leather could then go over your own padding and frame or the original frame could be made narrower.

nice idea to be sure, but sounds costly, both money and time. want to slide some baby cub seats in, but in true locost stylee having a poke around and seeing what else can be done to get same effect for buget cost. second hand baby cub!?
