boot box: update

hi all, after seeing mk boot box i throught i would give a go making a alu one, and i turned out good i think.

i started out by making a cardboard net

and then i made a card board cover

and then i bent it up in alu sheet

and then cut a hole for the filler hose

and then trimed teh edge back so it sat in.

and then made a wodden lid

and then cut the boot hatch

and then cut the filler cap in

and then covered it all in bule foam ready to vinly it.

and then made a bit of alu to fit around the filler hose.

Lookign good mate. Did you not like the MK one? I'm just about to buy one so would be interested if there's owt not quite right about it as not seen one yet.

no, it is jsut £85 and not a lot of room. and i had the alu from when i done my interior. so i throught i would give it a go.

i think i got a picture of a mk boot box some where i will have a look.

Unfortunately my fabrication skills aint that great but I've made a cardboard airbox to get done in Alu so might have a crack at a boot box in cardboard too and get them to do that. I wonder what the weight difference is like?

looks realy good, i used one of those cheap under bed plastic boxes that i found in woolworths. But mine was adifferent size, but still cheap.

Looks great, has inspired me to get on with mine... one of the post SVA mods that's not done 2 years after SVA!

Looking good.
Just a quick point for SVA - my Inspector wants me to fit covers on the upper seat-belt mounting plates as they are to the rear of the passenger compartment and thus need to be minimum radius or covered.

i think it has truned out well, just need to sort out a lock.

as well i know that the rear fog light needs to be vertical, i am sort that out a spacer.

a home made metal folder.

photos in my archive, had to make the metal folder to do my interior.
