Has anyone shortened the spiral drive for the wheelbox. I need to take a couple of inches off the end but there seems to be a spiral wrapped around cable then either spot welded or something on the end.

Just hacksaw it, it'll be fine. Mine is.

I'd use a grinder or dremel if you can - prevent frayage

a grinder does the job
