I have a pair of triton seats (awsome) just wondering what the excepted way of mounting them is. They have 4 M8 mounts on the bottom but i think i will need to raise the seat off the floor pan because i have a cross member in the way and im a sort ass so wouldnt be able to see over the steering wheel if i didnt.

I though of a couple of options

1. Stack some squares of 6mm ali until the seat is the right height

2. mount the seat on some sort of ali box section

any other suggestions?

rubber door stops might keep vibrations down too

I like the rubber bung idea. You could also use rubber exhaust bobbins if they have the right thread. Watch you dont lift them too high to fall foul of the SVA seat height / Seat belt upper mounting measurement. (If you have yet to SVA that is).

Why not fit some seat runners? They will lift your seat 25-30mm and you get the bonus of being able to move the seat....

I found to be comfy I had to raise the front of my triton seats by 1" at the front when mounting so they laid back a little.

I welded some angle between the chassis rail and TX tunnel and bolted directly to this.

Hey I just did mine this week. I fitted runners on the drivers side (ford fiesta ones).
I raised the seat on the pax side by using 2" box section. One side to bolt into the seat and another that bolts into the floorpan.

Driver side required some creative welding brackets to fit the runners to the seat.
I used a 3mm rubber sheet where the seat attaches to any metal to keep the fibre from cracking and to also get some damping from vibrations.

I am now about to fit my seats and I think the obber bung/bobbin idea sound brill, anyone else done this?

I will mount my Tritons with 20mm spacers, made from some Nylon.

If needed, I will raise the front a bit to make it comfy.

I have MNR seats but the same fixing arrangement.
I fitted Cobra runners then Marc at MNR supplied me with some aluminium stand offs to go between the seat runners and the floor just high enough to clear the chassis tube, I then have a 50mm washer on the inside and underside of the floor to spread the load. No probs so far.
