3 wheelers, eh?
As I'm currently building a car with the huge number of 4 wheels, I have no vested interest, but I think there should be more of these
tripods!
The Grinnall is cracking, (and there's a very cheap second hand one on their website too!) and I've seen a few customs advertised in the
back of which kit / kit car mags.
Anyone have any plans to build one? I'd love to see them.
(I'm guessing there's a reason this topic appeared?)

speaking to a guy last night there's a company (don't know name) that sells trike conversions for most bikes.
You simply unbolt the rear wheel/suspension arm from your bike and bolt a trike rear end straight on. these are a direct fit and are interchangable

Ned, is that the bolt on trike thing you're talking about on the grinnal site? Looks kinda cool, but not entirely sure why anyone would want to
do it. A 'normal' trike conversion normally has a whopping great sofa to sit on at the back. I don't really see what benefit the
grinnal gives??

that sounds like what the guy was on about, though recon'd you could get the kits for different bikes, said he'd seen a harley version.
I guess its an easy and possibly cheaper alternative to buiding a trike! though personally if i were that way inclined i'd stick to two wheels i

Saw one of these BMW bikes with the Grinnall rear end conversion exactly the same as the piccy on one of the scottish kit club gathering areas at stoneleigh this year, looked smart, the guy had trailered it down from mid scotland why not ride it surely it must be more comfortable than the 2 wheeled bike?
I wonder if the conversion includes a different seat?!....

Personally I can't see the point of the converted bike!
I much prefer the sit in to the sit on style, but I suppose it depends on the crowd you mix with.
I'd rather keep a bike with two wheels. Unless they come out with a three wheeler conversion that can be banked over!
I did like the one they had on Top Gear.

i guess if you get her off and she touches her toes you also have somwhere to park it too, front wheel first of course! what more could one want?

I've designed two 2IF (2 in front) trikes, the Tadpole (TM), and the Hammerhead (TM).
The Tadpole is a rear-engined two-seater trike.
The Hammerhead is powered by a Suzuki TL1000 motor, and is a Ducati style trellis frame. I'll post further details of it at some stage.

The 3 wheeler conversion to various different bikes is surely the new Stimson - I think it's called the Scorcher, primarily uses the Bandit for the back end (but I think other bikes can be used) & you can convert it back again to a bike if you choose to do so in the future!
Check out Luego - I'm sure they were offering trike conversions at Donnington this year.
