GTS Locost de-dion plans
Gav - 11/10/05 at 09:32 PM

finally recieved the gts plans and ive started work on the rear, however i have already built the basic "book" chassis using the mcsorley plans, apart from the rear end as i am going to use the dedion.

Comparing what ive built to the GTS plans, the GTS plans seem about 20mm higher from the bottom of the lower rails to the top of the rear bulk head.
I have checked the measurement of upright tubes that the trailing arms attach to and this seems fine so basically the plate the top suspension bracket is attached to will be 20mm lower and about 10mm further forward than it would of been.
I assume someone has done the same as i have and encounterd the same problem.
it would be good to have someone else opinion.

regards
gav.

Just make sure nothing hits the chassis rails under the extreme movement (something it's probably never gonna see anyway)

U can always modify the de-dion brackets to suit.

IIRC the rear bulkhead is 25mm higher than the standard locost one to make it easier to pass SVA with a 4 point harness installed as it brings the top harness mounting points at about the right level.
