Greetings...
Does anyone know the ideal offset for a Panther with Cortina front end?
14" dia if that helps.
Ta
Nope....but I will be using Capri Laser wheels...lol
I think the cortina offset was ET19. But I stand to be corrected!
David
When I say Cortina front end, I mean uprights - like yours..
Help...
I would imagine it will be the same for any other car that uses the cortina uprights?
Are you worried about matching the track front and rear? And worried that putting the wrong offset on the front will make it wider or narrower at the
fron than the back?
If so, then the difference will be 38mm max. I cant remember what the standard offset was on sierras (ET38 i think). If it was, then the max
difference you will get is 19 (each side)x2=38mm. I wouldnt worry about it.
If you are worried about the extra load on the bearings. I wouldnt worry either, the Panther is a circa 550kg car, so much less than the sierra or
cortina (then you knew that anyway!).
Like I said I am putting Capri wheels on mine all round, and dont forsee any problems.
I would likewise not see any problems fitting Sierra offset wheels all round either.
Cheers,
David
Might be dreaming again but wheel offset for Sierra based Locost is ET38....Escort based Locost is ET19.
Most make their 'bones on the Sierra based kits the right width up front to match the rear track so no need for different offsets front to rear.
