Hi, I'm having a rationalisation to raise funds to buy a newer more modern lathe to match one purchased last year, some more storage and a metal cutting bandsaw .

The stuff is all in good order with current electrical PAT test labels attached and offered exclusively on here as I have benefited from other people's clear outs. It does not belong to me but I am trying to obtain a fair price for it.

Most of the stuff is heavy and for collection, we can help with loading but can't palletize etc Cash on collection or cleared cheques [not Pay pal] official receipts will be issued.

[There will be more but I'm waiting for an answer from some one on here about another lathe which he has first refusal on - there are 2 Denford Viceroys a single phase and a 3 phase machine looking for £500 each]

Hmmm tempting that metalworking lathe. If only your old hoist wasn't taking up so much room in my workshop.
Approx how heavy is heavy. ie. can one be carried in a normal car?

Is this the end of the metalwork shop in schools?

I find that just a little bit sad.
I spent many a happy hour in one of those.

Skoda man - you could fit them both into one of your Mondeo fleet's boots, good to hear crane is still about. This is all colour coordinated

907 not the end of metal work by any means we have 2 other man sized lathes and found we don't need this varied collection here, still have a 3 phase wood turning lathe and the smaller one was hardly ever used. The 2 small machines were bought to allow smaller kids to be introduced to turning- making nylon bushes and brass knobs but once they have had a go they all want to work on the bigger machines. We are very forrtunate that one of the old boys who works as a technician is a trained ROF turner who loves training kids up, which partly explains why we have so much kit

We have sheet metal work stuff, decent mig and brazing hearth, chop saw etc (all very handy for a car enthusiast ) I bought an Axminster vertical miller about 5 years ago with rotary table etc so to answer your question metalwork is alive and well
I appreciate that this stuff may only be of interest to northeners but am keen that it should go to people who will get some use from it.

Giving this a pre Stoneleigh bump in case anyone wants stuff taking there, we'll be taking a 4 x 4 so can carry a bit of weight.
