Emerald ecu, Rover V8.....
Simon - 24/9/10 at 09:31 PM

Ahhhhhhh. Long post, no topic, all lost; now short version!

Emerald ECU £450
Rover 3.5 V8 (ran for short while with approx 3psi oil) may or may not have had it, though it drove fine.
Trigger wheel/sensor, may need rewiring.
Modified rear entry plenum (shorter)
Intercooler homemade from a pair of Ren 5 items to fit plenum
Machined Inlet manifold (1/2" lower)
Pair modified Audi S4 turbos
Pipework

No clutch/flywheel as that's on the 3.9.

May sell individually, unless someone wants to persevere with a twin turbo Rover V8 project, if so make me an offer.

See my blog for pics and most of what has been modified and how.

Need space in garage for diesel bike project.

Would love to turbo my v8, probably over my Budget though!

Simon, twin turbo V8 would win you infinitely more bragging rights than anything diesel! Are you sure you're not going to regret not persevering with it yourself? What was the problem in the end?

realistically what power could be had from a low compression 3.5 v8 with twin turbos?

(and how much can the bottom end take before you start to need expensive bits for the pistons / crank / rods etc).

Don't know but my engine is 9.35 CR, so not low comp.

Even low comp with 14 psi should see 250 to 300 bhp I should think.

I may one day go for a big single turbo on the 3.9. My issues were (possibly) leaky manifold, o/s turbo too low so getting oil blowing through bearings.

It ran really nicely up to about 3000 rpm, but higher than that and the popping and banging started

It could be turbos are too small, though I doubt it.
