OK as part of the major engine overhaul we've decided that we might as well change the final moving component of the old engine.....the flywheel.
Its a lightweight jobbie, that's to say, its not BEEN lightened, it was supplied as such. It has the pinto ring gear to allow mating to a Type 9
( or derivatives )........with timing holes in the rear face.
weighing in at a shade over 5.5kg.......
available for pick up from Sevenoaks area or can be posted ( guessing the cost of that will be about £15.)
flywheel ( + attached ring gear )........£125, approx half the price of a new one .......
Sorry to say I bought mine a few months ago, but might know someone who's interested.
Might as well ask the question while I'm at it though, which clutch is it designed to take? I now know the Burton one is an in-house design,
made to take a pinto clutch. But others (designed for std. fwd models, as seen on eBay) take the std zetec clutch.
charlie,
thx for asking that i had forgotten to add that crucial detail! it takes a standard sized pinto clutch....
