Blimey, I didn't realise they built "ocean going oil tanker" sized 7s
its so you can try it out
ever been registered??
why are the front springs upside down ?
Never registered, purely a race chassis.
Spring/ dampers are in the correct orientation.
Hi Sam
What's the history of the car - built when and by whom? Raced? Any damage?
Thanks
Wyn
Hi Wyn,
It was originally built by HWR and raced by Phil Morris with a 300bhp duratec engine, in the below link its the orange caterham
http://www.hwrmotorsport.co.uk/gallery/
I bought it in 2009 and competed in a few rounds each year with the NSSCC, SMRC and CSCC, until 2012 where i clipped the tyres at Croft and damaged
the front left wishbones which have been replaced. In my first race with it at Snetterton i managed a 4th out of 28 cars, this was the first mag 7
race meeting, and the reuslt was in the sports and saloons.
Before this at the end of 2010 the car was stripped and re-built and given the respray you see in the pictures.
In 2011 we took the car to Spa, this was the first race of the season for me and i competed again twice that year getting good results
2012 was another year of odd meetings, and a best lap time at croft of 1.29.123

It has been sat in a freinds garage since being used as a template for a 2015 race car, i have been pondering over a CBR install which i have the
engine but now moving to a single seater project

Thanks Sam
I'll send you a U2U .
Up for sale again, change of direction.
Offers over £4500
Bloody hell.a £3k engine install and you've got a £15k car
Agreed, a decent zetec and type 9 box with a ford diff and your off, or a £400 quid 919cc blade, prop and diff and you have a Caterham fireblade for under 7 grand?. I dont have the time to do it myself and am quite gutted about this but the new project is on the go now.
Sent U2U message yesterday
Car now passed on. Thanks for the interest.
