Thinking of selling my car so i can start a new project. Here is the stats

Book built locost chassis built by myself in stainless with a 2"wider track ( coded welder)
Zetec Turbo engine that is well sorted with forged pistons and steel rods, 327BHP that has been turned down to 250 to make more drivable
BGH close ratio gearbox with stronger bearings
Bara motorsport LSD 3:62:1 diff
Front and rear anti roll bar
3 core aluminium radiator
Dion rear axle
Windscreen, surry roof and westfield doors

I have no idea what to ask for her as she is one of a kind

I'd start by taking what you've spent on it (what you actually have spent and not what you've told the wife) and advertise at 50-60%.

I insure mine for £10k and agreed with insurers, as to replace it with anything else like a westfield would cost at least that
but in reality if I was to sell, doubt its worth more than 4k-5k nax

The trouble I see is there is a stigma attached to the kit car market and because of this it tends to drive the prices of some really good cars down. Sadly even though yours might be a superb example getting what it's actually worth is going to be difficult.

Because it's such a one off I'd start by asking what it's worth to you or how much you need to sell it for without feeling you've given someone too much of a bargain. Then compare this figure to other custom cars on the market and dream up a figure between the two?

I think that one thing that turns people off is servicing/maintainance.

Most owners pay to have their car serviced but for us there is no main dealer, or even a competent mechanic at a local garage.

No OBDII port.... "sorry can't fix it mate".



Then there are those that think there's something evil or alien about a "Q" plate.

My advice (FWIW) would be to find similar cars that have sold. eg high spec locost . Then add/subtract the differences so you BGH box may add £200? Turbo engine? LSD? etc etc.That will give you a ball park figure. But as always uniqueness is incredibly difficult to put a value on. It just takes the right person who wants that spec.
Sadly all too often buyers are none too bothered, and that softens the price down. Many will want a Caterham just because it is a name they know and trust.

Interested. Just looking through your photo archive there are 3 different colour cars with the same ref number, assuming that's the car, what does it look like now?
