New top end gaskets including head gasket, New water pump, New timing belt, Recent oil change.

Few marks all over most of which can be sanded and polished as its gelcoat but I mostly leave them as I think it goes with period look of the car.

Interior pleather deteriorating but easy replace for someone looking at a kit car and again, I like the look of it with the car at the moment.

Great thing about using the 1.6 MX5 is that the engines were based on a turbo engine and are pretty bullet proof. A whole engine on ebay can be had for as little as £150 so you can add a turbo and play with the power without much worry about hurting your pocket if something goes wrong.
Saying that this has been turboed for most of its life and still runs strong.

Your build is way nicer than mine. Glad if I had anything to do with inspiring it.

I would be happy to still keep it but I'm in a money saving mode in life at the moment and have my eyes on a new bike so happy to pass this on to someone else to play with.

On that note, Would consider swaps for a Buell S1 or M2!

Cheers

It's actually difficult to put in words how amazing your car is, I just hope I can get somewhere near your quality of work with my own car. Whoever has the money will be getting an absolute bargain.

Fingers crossed I'll see it again at a future kit car show with a new owner, hope the sale goes well.

Oh, if it does get to Ebay, I'd be happy to repost the link on a couple of Facebook groups if that works for you? I'm sure it would gain so much interest.

I can't believe you haven't had a serious offer. I wish I was in a position where I could make one myself. Wish you all the best and hope you get something like what your car is worth.

We put a lot of blood sweat and tears into these and can over inflate what we think they are worth in our heads. I know the first price I put was a dream price but that was what I needed for a bike I was looking at without putting extra funds towards it .

I think £4000 is a fair price for the car though so started the first auction at that as I don't normally like reserves and expected to get at least one bid on it. Few ebayers said they were keen at that price but alas no.

Relisted it with a reserve a bit lower than that now so hopefully will make it there.

When I wrote off my Haynes in 2018 the assesor said I had done £13000 worth of damage to it. They came in with an offer of £5000 which I accepted as it had cost me just over £3000 to build. So 5 days after the accident I had a cheque. On reflection I think I should have pushed for 1 or 2 k more and think yours is worth more than mine was. Good luck with your sale

Its made it to reserve so I guess it will be selling.

Can't believe you're selling it Stot, I followed your build on the Haynes forum in awe and, years later, still expect to refer back as I crawl on with mine...
