Part built car for sale
wheelsinsteadofhooves - 18/4/08 at 11:48 AM

Due to various reasons, not least a new job which leaves not a spare second, I unfortunately have to sell my part built locost. I have invested a fair amount of time and money in this project, but have to be realistic, and rather it went to a good home (and ultimately a good road!), than gathered dust in the garage.

I have included a few pictures of the car and various bits as is. It will also come with several boxes of “bits and pieces” as well as unfitted, mostly new parts. For sale is:

Locost based on book racing chassis.
1300 x-flow engine fitted, with escort gearbox
reconditioned live rear axle
Racing green body work, ali panels fitted
new AVO suspension all round
new fuel tank
fitted ali dash with new Siemens instruments
new classic style bucket seats
all electrics fitted (new loom)
new lights all round, Caterham rear, small headlamps for front
brand new titanium repackable exhaust
new windscreen, wipers attached, new electric fans/heaters fitted
All new bolts/fixings have been used throughout. Correct length bolts (no moving parts on threads), thread cut to length. Locknuts (not nylock) all round.

In all, the car is farily good, but admittedly not amazing, condition and build level. I bought the car part built myself. I’m a mechanical engineer (PnD) so allegedly know what I’m doing!

The main jobs left are fitting the handbrake, plumbing engine, and pedal box.

Looking for offers around £1000, car is ready to trailer away.

The car is currently located just south of Godalming, Surrey, although I may be able to arrange transport to south Hertfordshire or even Peterborough.

Please contact me on email (van_romunde_zane@cat.com, zane@vanromunde.com) or on my phone (07939 248134) if you have any questions or to arrange viewing. I’m not on this site much so U2U not best way to get in touch.

Cheers,
Zane

don't sell it, gods it's almost done!

big mistake IMOP

I seem to be able to build two houses, work full time, do 4 cars, a motor bike, restore a boat and still have time to watch the telly

sleep?!!

yea, it is a shame, but lack of facilites (car at my folks', no decent place to build it at my rented gaff), and too little time means it best off with someone who can do the last little bits and enjoy the car.

OMG pic No 2.

No wonder you invested quite a bit of money in it if you paid £70 for a washer bottle!

Is it a new build needing SVA or a rebuild with exisiting docs, chassis number etc?

Long story invloving someone asking me how much I paid for the bottle, clearly marked as £7 at the time.

It's an all new build, no existing paperwork except a box file of recipts and the like. Also SVA manual.
