These get raved about for the money.

www.diywelding.co.uk/product_details.asp?d=9&p={2F535B15-3140-4F87-8F23-2F6763A650AC}

I have one and it is better than the £20 ebay ones.

The next price break is £100+ for anything better.

They are near the tip in Mansfield.

Cant get the link to work - look for Parweld on www.diywelding.co.uk

Seconded, I've got one of these and it's very good- much better than my much more expensive Speedglas one.

The address is a bit buried in the website, I think Diywelding is the internet side of the business. The 'normal' side is Central Welding Supplies.

Watch out for the angry dog, it hates me.

I have one of those Parweld helmets and it works fine for Tig and Mig use. It is also recommended by several people on www.mig-welding.co.uk

First post, but I thought I would wait until I could give a useful answer

Forgot to mention - I bought mine from there and it arrived in a couple of days.

She will be able to tell by the flashing lights coming from the garage! Oh and the electricity bill

I would recommend speaking to Steve AKA weldequip on the mig-welding.co.uk forum. He is a nice chap and will sort you out.

I have a Parweld helmet. I think it cost about £45 and has an adjuster for different darknesses.
Can't remember where I got it from but a search should find them.

Make sure you keep everything else covered up.
The "sunburn" you will get on your arms from welding in just a T shirt is bl**dy painful.
