Where can I get track rod ends with the right thread????????
I have received two sets now by post after asking for ends for escort rack with M14 -1.5 thread. all have come withe metric fine M14 2.0.
Is it me? GRRRRR
I am calm .now rant over.
Regards Denis.
Don't you need Sierra track rod ends?
They are M14x2.0 as are the Escort track rods, unless it's a mark one escort rack which has imperial threads.
Cheers
Chris
if you have the regularly used mk2 escort steering rack, then eds motorsport on ebay have sets that fit, because ive bought a set from them and they

Pretty much as Chris said... M14x2.0
I've just been to a local Jayar at lunchtime to pick some up as it happens. They supplied me with FirstLine branded parts and the part number was
FTR 4040.
I've yet to actually try them on my rack so will report back later on that. My rack is a quick rack from Rally Design and was purchased as an
Escort MK2 one.
I assume you're confident that you need M14x1.5 but if so then that's not standard Escort AFAIK.

Thanks for the replies fella's but I am sure that what I have is an escort rack which I bouight from some-one off this site.
the ends are course thread and some extenders I bought from GTS fit the ends.
My local fastening supplier id'ed the thread as 14x 1.5.
Still stuck,,, and I wanted to line up the wheels on the three wheeler this w/e..
HO HUM
Regards Denis...
interesting, seems the extensions from gts have changed the thread required? maybe if you give them a call on the new number (ask flak monkey if you
havent got it?) darren might be able to point you in the direction of the correct track rod ends to use?
unless the thread that has been identified is the one on the actual rack...
Al
The track extender has the same thead ,malel and female. and fits the rack perfectly.
Denis.
interesting, so the link i first gave you should fit then, if your rack is standard...? right, im going to go home and check the thread on my rack! if
its m14 1.5 ill let you know, if it 2.0 ill also let you know!
Al
Thanks fella's .I will go to the motor factors tomorrow and just try what they have off the shelf using the the extender as a thread guid.
Regards Kipper.
I recently bought a new Escort TRE for my rack, the thread was deinitely coarse.
Ford Puma and Probe TRE are M14x1.5. Not sure if taper is the same though?

Right fella's
Went top the motor factors (waterloo eng in Hull) who were very helpfull and patiant. We went through a big box of obsolete TRE's and found some
to fit.
They said they were from a p100 whatever that is. But I am now sorted .
Sorry to put you all to so much bother .
Thanks Denis.
A P100 is a pickup truck like thing based on Cortina parts IIRC.
they also did a sierra version with live axle!
