lazer cutting service

I placed an order with 3ge may 10th to have some engine mounts cut out of 3mm steel but so far have had nothing through and keith doesnt know what is happening with my order(said he will find out).

I am off work next week and had planned to get my engine into my chassis and painting it all. At this rate it looks like ill have a wasted week off as its the only thing i can do on my chassis!

So can please recomend me a cutting service? ill give 3ge untill thursday but im desperate for these parts.

Is 3mm thick enough? I'd be looking at 5mm minimum

hmmm good question, i was told by a friend that it would be the correct thickness but i think ill up it to 5mm to be on the safe side.

is it the plate that bolts to the engine? if so, i'd go 5mm myself. 3mm just seems a bit too bendy

5mm min for engine mount plates..... another from experience!

Also dont use 16g tube, use at least 3mm wall. I used 1" bore water pipe for my current ones. Not light - but strong...!

I've only ever had excellent service from http://www.laser-eng.com/

Used them twice. Cheap and a relatively quick turn around.

Minimum order when I last used them (to make up my trigger wheels) was £30

one thing i would say though is that if the engine mounts are "designed propperly" then 2.5mm is more than enough.

The mounts that are fitted to my sr20 engine are 2.5mm but are designed in such a way that they are more than strong enough

think a quick sketch is needed, the plate that i need cut is on the right. The plate will be fully welded to the chassis at an angle to allow for the original engine mounts to simply slott into the chassis mount. the mounts will also be "boxed off" so it will gain additional support from the side plates.
