Anyone upgraded their rig and got a pci-e VGA gathering dust?
Looking at radeons at the moment, 5770, 5830 etc.
5830's have been on the scan ' today only' page at £78 but I'd rather spend less second hand as I'm sure I'll want to
upgrade again at some point once the BF3 bug has bitten
Cheers

not a radeon but i've got a 8800gts sat here doing nothing since i upgraded to a 6950 in january.
its the 512mb version but is a few years old now so might be no better than what you have now
Strangely enough thats the exact same model my mate has offered to lend me (but is still trying to dig it out) although I think it might not have the
grunt required for the bits and pieces I may be playing on it
it will probably struggle with any newer games depending on resolution, i had to upgrade it when i got a 24" monitor.
GeForce 8400 GS DDR2 256MB any good? It's a PNY branded card, PCI-E connector, DVI, VGA and s-video outs. I used to use it for a twin monitor
setup. Only problem is it needs a new fan.
If it's any good make me an offer.
Chris
I've got a pair of brand new Sapphire HD5830 Extreme 1GB's here if you are interested - looking for £70 each (still £100 new)

Gimme a mo', a mate has just posted on Facebook that he's splurged big money on a new Gfx card.
I'll message him and ask what he's doing with his old one.
Cheers Fista, I've offered asking price on a card on another forum but the seller hasn't replied yet - so the sooner your mate replies the
better as I could still pull out if he's got a model I'm after
Cheers again,
G
I know nothing about them, sooooo I'm just repeating what he said
It's an Nvidia 8800 gtx and he wants £30 for it (+ postage), he says it's a physically large card and might not fit in a small case.
Any good ?
Thanks for that again, unfortunately would be after something with a bit more oomph at around the £100 mark so I can get the most out of my monitor
resolution etc. Problem is nvidia and amd have changed their naming of their cards which makes it difficult for the average Joe to work out what
generation and heirachy the old and new stuff is Link
Many thanks again for your trouble
G
